For
us, 2013 was a year of changes. We started on a sad note in January when our
dog, Lindsey, died.
In
February, we started packing because on March 1, we bought a house and moved.
We live north of OKC in rural Logan County, OK. Paul also changed professions, moving from fundraising at World Neighbors into ministry at Holy Trinity Luther Church – Missouri Synod in Edmond. In addition to leading or assisting at worship and teaching, Paul started an outreach ministry to seniors.

In
April, we celebrated the wedding of Cindy’s son, Matthew, to Kendra. Paul
officiated at the wedding, and we hosted the guests at our home. Later in
April, Cindy started a new job as a Comptroller for the Oklahoma Department of
Human Services, where she is very much appreciated for her experience.
After
we dodged some tornadoes, we worked on our property (1.5 acres on a wooded
lot). We cut and split enough firewood for several winters. We rented a log
splitter, stump grinder and brush hog. We purchased a chain saw, leaf blower
and halftrack (Nah! Just wanted to see
if you’re still reading.)
We
camped overnight in the Arbuckle Mountains. That is the Oklahoma mountain
range. We spent a few long weekends with Cindy’s parents in North Texas. To
celebrate our 3rd year wedding anniversary, we closed the summer
with an overnight trip to Little Rock, Arkansas, where we toured the President
Clinton Library, the Old State House, and worshipped at the historic First
Lutheran Church.
Friends
invited us to view the premier exhibit of Heaven
on Earth: 500 Years of Italian Art at the Oklahoma Museum of Art. Paul’s
senior ministry group visited this exhibit in mid-November.
We
plan to spend Christmas 2013 worshipping at Holy Trinity Church, with friends
and family. We hope that your 2013 was a blessed year. We pray that God grant
you your needs in 2014.
We
have lots of room at our home, and guests are always welcome. We get lots of
them – deer, armadillos, turtles, frogs, birds and more. Our cats, Buddie and
Winnie, love human guests, and if you are crisscrossing America, you have a
home right in our nation’s heartland. We hope to see you here.
Merry
Christmas and a Blessed New Year!
Paul
and Cindy Cwynar, 8008 Rhett Lane, Edmond OK 73025
